How is a balance accumulated?
A balance is generated when the unused monetary value of your current plan is higher than the cost of the new plan you are switching to.
A balance is generated when the unused monetary value of your current plan is higher than the cost of the new plan you are switching to.
This typically happens if you move from a high-value, long-term plan (e.g., a 12-Month Performance membership) to a higher-tier, monthly plan (e.g., a 1-Month Ultimate membership).
The system takes the unused value of your 12-month Performance plan and first applies it to the immediate cost of the 1-month Ultimate upgrade. Any value left over after that upgrade is then stored as a GeForce NOW Balance.
How is the balance used?
Your billing date remains the same. On your next renewal, the system will automatically "spend" your GeForce NOW Balance to cover the membership cost before attempting to charge your default payment method.

Because the balance is an internal credit, these "charges" will appear in your billing history but not on your bank or credit card statements. GeForce NOW Balance is only available for active premium memberships. If you cancel your subscription, any remaining balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered.

How will charges appear on my statement?
Charges appear as “NVIDIA Corporation” or “NVIDIA Corp.”
Why am I seeing two charges in one month?
If an initial payment attempt fails, our system will automatically try to process the charge again over a 14-day grace period to ensure you don’t lose access to your membership. You may see these as "pending" or "failed" attempts on your statement.

You will only ever be successfully charged once per billing cycle. If a new payment method is provided during this 14-day window, we will attempt to charge that method to settle the current balance. If all attempts fail after 14 days, the subscription will be automatically downgraded to a Free membership on day 15.
